Heavy rain continues in metropolitan area including Noida, Gurugram, roads congested, schools and colleges closed


Delhi NCR Weather Update: Heavy rain has continued for the third day across the NCR, including the national capital, Delhi. As a result, many areas in Delhi were flooded and traffic was disrupted on the main roads of the city.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a “yellow alert” on Friday, warning of moderate rain in most parts of the city. According to the warning, more rain is expected in the capital region during the weekend, although the amount of rain may be slightly less. The Delhi Traffic Police also informed commuters about the traffic situation on Twitter.

Amid heavy rains, the Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration announced closure of schools from classes I to VIII. Private educational institutions in Gurgaon have been told to remain closed. It also issued an advisory requesting that district corporate offices and private establishments encourage their employees to work from home to avoid traffic jams.
