According to the meteorological department, light to heavy rains are expected in the southern states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar in the coming days. A cyclonic circulation is likely to develop in the southern Andaman Sea. As a result, a low pressure area may develop over the southeastern Bay of Bengal and the adjacent southern Andaman Sea. It will most likely move and concentrate in the west-northwest direction. In the next 24 hours, a trough will form over the southeast Bay of Bengal.
