New Delhi: Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, a veteran investor who was hailed as the ‘Warren Buffet of India’, passed away on Sunday. Jhunjhunwala was the Chairman of Hungama Media, Viceroy Hotels, Geojit Financial Services, Concord Boitech and Vogue India. He also founded the recently established Akasa Air.

In fact, it was last seen in public when the airlines debuted. People immediately started mourning the news of his death on Twitter.

Jhunjhunwala, the “Big Bull of Indian Markets” had a net worth of $5.8 billion as of August 2022. He invested both personally and through his company, Rare Enterprises.
Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-backed budget airline Akasa Air made its debut on August 7.

According to Forbes, Jhunjhunwala was the 438th richest person in the world in 2022 and the 36th richest person in India in 2021.

Star Health & Allied Insurance Co Ltd 3.10% with a total value of Rs 1,229.00 crore. In addition, it has an investment in Fortis Healthcare Ltd worth a total of Rs 898.91 crore, which is 4.2% of the total shares. His share in CRISIL Kft is 2.9%, the total value is 21,29,250 kroner.
