New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor has said that the Chief Minister will be the face of the upcoming Gujarat elections. He nominated Isudhan Gadhvi as a contender for the top post in the state.

Gadhvi was elected by public vote

Gadhvi was selected based on the public opinion that the party had started in the state. AAP had earlier urged the people of the state to contact them via SMS, WhatsApp, voicemail and email and cast their votes to help decide the party’s CM face.

According to AAP, about 15 lakh votes were received. Voting was scheduled for October 29 and closed at 5 p.m. Isudhan Gadhvi is the National Joint General Secretary of AAP. He said: “Our central team managed the entire poll. We don’t have an exact number of supporters who voted using various methods, but the number will be in the millions. About 15 million entries were received on the first day, October 29.”

He also said, “I am just a party soldier. We all work as a team, and none of them has expressed a desire to be prime minister.”

EC has announced the schedule for Gujarat polls

In Gujarat, the poll bug has already been announced in connection with the assembly elections. Voting in the State Assembly takes place in two stages. Voting in the state will be held in two phases and in November. While the votes are counted in December, and after that the new government is formed. The term of the Gujarat government will expire on February 23, 2023.

The 15th Gujarat Assembly Election 2022 will be interesting this time as Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), BJP, Congress and local parties will contest the polls for the first time. The Election Commission will hold a press conference on the Gujarat elections from noon.
