Himachal Assembly polls: Congress releases manifesto


New Delhi: With just a week left for Himachal Pradesh to vote in the assembly elections, the Congress party on Saturday released its manifesto on the hill and made 10 promises.

The Congress’ 10 guarantees include restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), Rs 1,500 per month for women, 300 units of free electricity and purchase of cow dung at Rs 2 per kg.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel was also present during the launch of the manifesto.

Voting on 12.11

State voting will be held on November 12 and the results will be counted on December 8.

Voting will be conducted in a total of 68 constituencies. The Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and also the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have entered a tough race in the hill.
