Prime Minister Modi made the remark while addressing the 2020 batch IAS officers at the closing session of the Assistant Secretary Program 2022 at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi earlier today, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the officers have got an opportunity to serve the country during Amrit Kaal and help implement Panch Pra. He said the officer has a key role to play in ensuring that the goal of a developed India is achieved in Amrit Kaal.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of out-of-box thinking and a holistic approach in their actions. He cited the example of the PM GatiShakti Master Plan to demonstrate the importance of such a holistic approach.
The Prime Minister discussed the importance of innovation and how it has become the country’s common work and part of the work culture. He spoke about the Start-up India program and how the number of startups in the country has grown significantly in recent years.
He noted that this has been possible because several ministries have come together and worked as a team through a “whole of government” approach.
He mentioned how the administration’s focus has shifted beyond Delhi to all regions of the country. Prime Minister Modi gave examples of how important schemes are now being launched from outside Delhi.
The Prime Minister suggested that officers develop an understanding of the local culture of the work area and strengthen their connections with local people at the ground level. He asked them to focus on One District One product and explore export opportunities for their district’s products. He also asked the officers to prepare their action plan for the Aspirational Districts programme.
This year, a total of 175 2020 IAS officers have been posted as Assistant Secretaries to 63 Ministries/Ministries of India from 11/07/2022 to 07/10/2022.
