IMD issues very heavy rainfall alert in THESE states, check list


Weather warning: The monsoon is in its second phase in the country these days and it is raining heavily in many places. Due to the rain, the rivers are overflowing in many places, and a flood situation has developed. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that rain will continue in many parts of the country in the coming days.

Rain is likely to continue for the next two to three days over many adjoining areas including Orissa, West Bengal and Jharkhand due to the pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. In an alert issued by the Meteorological Department, fishermen were advised not to go into the sea until August 11.

Along with this, rain is forecast in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa and Telangana today.

The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rain today and tomorrow in Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan and Goa. On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh and Saurashtra may experience heavy rains today. While Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha are also expected to receive heavy rains in the next two days. A rain alert is also in effect for Telangana, coastal and north Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.

According to Skymet Weather, a private weather forecasting agency, light to heavy rains may occur in many parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Southeast and South Rajasthan, Gujarat.
