India delivers 13th batch of medical assistance to Afghanistan

New Delhi: India has provided the thirteenth medical aid to Afghanistan consisting of essential medicines and medical/surgical items in response to the urgent appeal of the United Nations to help the Afghan people.

In continuation of our special relationship with the people of Afghanistan and in view of the urgent calls made by the United Nations to help the Afghan people, India has provided the thirteenth medical assistance consisting of essential medicines and medical/surgical items. – announced the Minister of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.

Medical supplies include pediatric stethoscope, blood pressure monitor mobile type with pediatric blood pressure cuff, infusion pump, drip chamber set, electric cautery, nylon sutures, etc.

The same were handed over to the authorities of Indira Gandhi Children’s Hospital, Kabul, the MEA said.

So far, India has provided almost 45 tonnes of medical aid, which included essential life-saving drugs, anti-tuberculosis drugs, 500,000 doses of COVID vaccine, medical/surgical equipment, etc. added the MEA.

In addition, India supplied 40,000 tonnes of wheat to the Afghan people.
