India led by Rohit Sharma win by six runs

Nagpur: India have won the second T20I against Australia in Nagpur after the game was reduced to 8 overs due to a wet outfield.

After opting to bowl first, India restricted Australia to 90 runs in 8 overs and then successfully chased it down in 7.2 overs.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma became the star of the series as he single-handedly scored 46 runs. Sharma’s stunning knock took India closer to victory within 8 overs. Dinesh Karthik then finished in style as he hit a six and a four off the two balls he faced.

I had my plan โ€“ Dinesh Karthik

After winning the game, Karthik said, “There wasn’t too much talk. Rohit was trying to tell me that this is what a bowler would do, I had my plan. As an average batter, it’s all about execution. It feels good to hit winning runs. Ro with the bat and Axar with the ball stood out, it was good to see Bumrah back. We have to carry the momentum forward. 1-1 is a good result. You want to play those crunch games. But most importantly we are happy to put on a show for the crowd without any injuries.
