India ranks number one in World Test Rankings after historic win against NZ


Mumbai: Team India has been placed at the top after a historic 372-run win over New Zealand, which could not stand Indian bowlers in either of the two innings.

India won the two-match series 1–0 after registering a victory by the highest run margin against New Zealand, who took 10 wickets with Ajax Patel at his birthplace.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli was overjoyed with the team’s performance as he said, “Coming back with a win again, it’s a great feeling and a clinical performance. You want the guy to move on. The first Test was good, And it was a clinical performance here. We discussed the performance and the opposition played a good draw.”

Now Virat Kohli’s team will go to South Africa for three Tests and three ODIs starting from 26 December.

Virat Kohli’s team is now three points ahead of second-placed New Zealand in the ICC Test rankings. At the same time, Australia is in third place with 108 points.

Currently India has 124 points while New Zealand have 121 points.

England is at the fourth position with 107 points. Both Australia and England will have a chance to improve their rankings as they lock horns in the five-match Ashes.
