Melbourne: In the last match of the Super 12 series, India has played spectacularly against Zimbabwe. The motor team of KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav scored 186 runs and multiplied the difficulties.
Rahul scored 51 runs off 35 balls before being dismissed by Sikhandar Raza. During his stay on the field, he hit 3 fours and 3 maximums. He was well supported by Suryakumar Yadav who contributed with 61 runs off 25 balls.
Rohit Sharma departed early with 15 runs and Virat Kohli followed him with 26 runs in the 12th over. Rishabh Pant was the new addition to the team but he failed to perform and returned for 3 runs. However, Hardik Pandya played 18 balls and scored the same number of runs.
Importance of India and Zimbabwe
India have already reached the semi-finals of the tournament, but this game will have a bearing on their course. if India manage to win this game by a huge margin and add to their NRR, the opponent will be New Zealand. Currently Pakistan is leading with +1.028 NRR followed by India with +0.730 NRR. The top seed will get New Zealand, while the second place holder will battle England in the semi-finals.
