new Delhi: Justifying India’s stand at the UN General Assembly, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said it was based on “certain careful considerations” and was taken in the “best interest” of the country.

In a special briefing by the Ministry of External Affairs on Operation Ganga to repatriate Indian nationals from Ukraine’s conflict zone, Shringla said, “In the next 3 days, 26 flights have been scheduled to bring out Indian nationals, apart from Bucharest and Budapest. Huh. .”

He advised Indian citizens in Kyiv to move to the western parts and exit whenever possible.

“All our citizens in Kyiv were advised to go to the western parts and exit whenever they can. They can go to Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Poland and Moldova. 7700 citizens have left these routes, 2000 Have come back and are waiting for 4000- 5000 aircraft,” Shringla said.

“The Prime Minister spoke to his counterparts in the Slovak Republic and Romania to seek assistance in continued support for our evacuation efforts. He has just spoken to the President of Poland in a similar effort. He has been invited by the Presidents of France and the European Union Commission. Called from me too,” he said. (ANI)
