It’s time to get rid of Babar and Rizwan, says Shaheen Afridi


New Delhi: Pakistan captain Babar Azam responded to his critics by scoring a second T20I century while chasing a successful 200-run target against England in Karachi on Thursday night.

Babar scored an unbeaten 110 while his opening partner Mohammad Rizwan scored an unbeaten 88 as the pair made fun of the 200-run target. The openers handed Pakistan a massive 10-wicket win which helped them level the seven-match series at 1-1.

The pair broke many records during their double century. They have 1929 runs as partners which is the most in T20I history, surpassing the pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, who held the record with 1743 runs.

Babar and Rizwan have also registered seven centuries in T20Is which is a record. And the stand of 203 runs is the biggest chase in T20 as well.

Pakistan’s star left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi posted a tweet after the record win, full of sarcasm, aimed at critics who criticized the relatively short strikes of Babar and Rizwan who damaged Pakistan in T20Is. Rate indicated.

Shaheen tweeted which soon went viral, “I think it’s time to get rid of Captain @babarazam258 & @iMRizwanPak. Selfish player. If we play well, I should have finished the match in 15 overs. He took it till the last over. Let’s make this a movement. No?”

“Absolutely proud of this wonderful Pakistani team,” he said.

Babar was under pressure after his poor performance in the Asia Cup. During the post-match presentation, he said, “I’ve always had faith and that’s what you need as a player. The team has always supported and supported me.” The third T20 match of the series will be played at this ground on Friday.
