J&K: 1 civilian killed; 25 injured including policeman as grenades hurled by terrorists in busy Srinagar market

Srinagar: A civilian was killed in a grenade attack in Amira Kadal area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar. 25 others, including a police personnel, were also injured in the attack on a busy market on Sunday.

Several people were injured in the attack on Sunday when a large number of people were present in the market.

Police said the grenade attack was aimed at the security forces deployed in the area but it exploded in the busy Amira Kadal market.

News24 sources said that over 25 people, including a policeman, suffered shrapnel in the grenade attack.

On receiving information about the grenade attack, more forces including senior officers of paramilitary force and police reached the spot to take stock of the situation. The search operation has been started to nab the terrorists behind the attack.

The area has been cordoned off and the injured have been taken to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital in Srinagar.
