J-K: ADG Mukesh Singh arrives in Poonch amid counter-terror operation


Poonch (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], October 17 (ANI): Mukesh Singh, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Jammu region, reached Poonch’s Bhimber Gali area on Sunday, where an anti-militancy operation is underway.

Rajouri-Poonch range Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Vivek Gupta said on Saturday that the terrorists are stuck at one place and the Poonch-Rajouri-Jammu highway will be opened as soon as security is provided in the area.

He was speaking on the encounter that took place in Bhata Dhurian area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir.

A search operation was being carried out by security personnel in Bhata-Durian area adjoining Dehra Ki Gali (DKG) forest ridge in Rajouri-Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, in which Army personnel were killed. Army personnel along with the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police had launched a search operation in this dense forest on 15 October.

According to the police, the movement of vehicles was stopped on the highway between Bhimber Gali and Surankote on Friday. On October 11, five Army personnel, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), were killed in anti-militancy operations in Rajouri’s DKG area adjoining Poonch sector. (ANI)
