The main objective of this seminar was to encourage a girl child and prevent discrimination against a particular gender in the society. Parents along with many girls also participated in the program.
Khair-un-Nissa, a member of the Juvenile Justice Board, said that the purpose of the event is to spread awareness about a girl child.
“We are celebrating International Day of the Girl Child. The aim of the event was to spread awareness about a girl child,” she said.
“The theme of the event was ‘Digital Generation Our Generation’,” she said.
He further added, “In the program I felt that parents and boys should have been invited, it is important to teach girls as well as boys.”
Seminar organizer Hakim Javed said, “The objective of this event is to empower girls about what is right for them as well as for parents and their participation. We request parents to kindly take their Listen to the girl’s voice, get her involved. In the conversation and get her opinion too.”
“We should have included parents in the programme, it could have helped in developing a better understanding between both the child and the parents,” he said.
Motiha, a participant, expressed her happiness on attending the program and said, “It is our day and it is very important for us. Such an event should be organized to understand the importance of girls.”
Another participant Jannat said, “I am glad that I participated in this program, what I saw here is that every girl took out her anger whether it was related to their parents or the current situation, they fearlessly did whatever they wanted. Felt talked about him.” (ANI)
