J&K: 4 killed, 14 injured in fire at junk shop; LG Sinha announces ex-gratia amount

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): At least four people were killed and 14 others injured when a fire broke out at a scrap shop in Jammu district on Monday evening. police gave this information.

Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of those killed in the incident, Rs 1 lakh to the seriously injured and Rs 25,000 to those with minor injuries. The incident happened around 6.15 pm.

“An ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each will be given to the families of the deceased in the Jammu LPG cylinder blast incident. An ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh will be given to the seriously injured and Rs 25,000 to those with minor injuries,” the office said. LG tweeted.

Jammu region’s Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Mukesh Singh told media persons, “At around 6.15 pm, a fire broke out in a junk shop, killing four people and injuring 14. The cylinder inside the shop also exploded. ”

Rescue operation is on. (ANI)
