Jacqueline Fernandez interrogated by Delhi police for 8 hours


New Delhi: Jacqueline Fernandez was summoned by Delhi police on Wednesday in connection with Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s 200-crore extortion case. She appeared before the Economic Crimes Branch of the Delhi Police at around 11:30 am. The actress was interrogated by Delhi police for around 8 hours before heading home.

According to recent reports, she was not summoned to the second round of questioning. The officials will decide among themselves after a closed meeting.

Jacqueline Fernandez was questioned by EOW for about eight and a half hours today. The actress was not summoned again for questioning tomorrow. Senior officers will discuss Jacqueline’s responses from today’s meeting among themselves.

Actually, the actress wanted to appear before the Delhi police on September 12. However, due to her previous commitments, she appealed for the questioning to be postponed to September 14.

Last month, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed an indictment against the actress, naming her on charges of fraud.

In layman’s terms, Chandrashekhar is a defendant in the 200-crore extortion racket. He carried it out of prison by bribing prison officials in crores. The ED stated that it used a broad money laundering network. He would use it to buy movable and immovable property.

A few months ago, ED confiscated assets belonging to the actress and also questioned her. The agency provisionally seized £7 crore of the actor’s assets under the Anti-Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in April.

According to media reports, Jacqueline Fernandez initially did not respond to messages sent to her by the scammer Sukesh Chandrasekhar. He later approached the actress through her hairdresser.
