External Affairs Minister of India S. Jaishankar has created a stir on social media with a picture of himself doing some spring cleaning in his office on Twitter.

New Delhi: India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar created panic on social media on Saturday. He posted a picture of himself on Twitter doing some spring cleaning in his office.

“A clean workplace is a better workspace. The weekend is being used to good effect,” Jaishankar He wrote on Twitter while posting a picture of himself outside his office along with some old files.

The picture evoked strange reactions from Twitter users.

Jaishankar has been really busy for the past few months. The next few months are going to be even more hectic.

He is scheduled to make an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan and Armenia from October 10 to 13.

The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that Jaishankar would be in the Kyrgyz Republic on October 10-11. This will be his first visit to the country as foreign minister.

“In addition to meeting the President of Kyrgyzstan, he will hold bilateral meetings with the Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan. Some agreements/MoUs are also expected to be signed during the visit,” the ministry said.

After that, Jaishankar will be in Kazakhstan from October 11 to October 12. He will attend the 6th Ministerial Meeting of the Conference on Dialogue and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Nur-Sultan. Kazakhstan is the current president and initiator of the CICA Forum.

EAM is also expected to hold bilateral talks with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan and meet the Kazakh leadership.

After this, Jaishankar will visit Armenia on 12-13 October.

“This will be the first visit by an External Affairs Minister of India to independent Armenia. He will hold meetings with his Armenian counterpart as well as meet the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia,” the statement from the Ministry of External Affairs said.

It further said that Jaishankar’s visit would provide an opportunity to “review the progress in our bilateral relations with the three countries as well as share views on the development of the region”.

“This will be a continuation of our growing engagement with countries in our ‘extended neighbourhood’,” the statement said.
