Jamshedpur sign former Arsenal striker J-Emmanuel Thomas

New Delhi: Jamshedpur FC has announced the signing of British striker J Emmanuel Thomas aka JET. The star will play for ISL with jersey number 10.

The 31-year-old was in Ain East Bengal. The conversation between the Bengal and the attacker has also progressed a lot. However, Jamshedpur dealt a huge blow to East Bengal by finally signing with the Englishman.

The attacking star’s contract with Aberdeen expired last April. Then, East Bengal and Jamshedpur FC pounced at ISL to sign the superstar.

Andy Boothroyd is the new coach of Jamshedpur after Owen Coyle left India to manage Queens Park Rangers.

English and Scottish stars are already performing in Jamshedpur. Peter Hartley, who plays for Motherwell, is one of ISL’s top stars. Similarly, Greg Stewart played a significant role in Jamshedpur winning the league title last year and signing Mumbai City Football Club this season.

J-Emmanuel Thomas has emerged from Arsenal’s youth ranks and has played for many famous clubs in the English Premier League and Scottish Premier League. The Arsenal senior player has worn the star-studded shirt of clubs such as Blackpool, Doncaster Rovers, Cardiff City, Ipswich Town, Bristol City and QPR. JET has played in the Scottish Premier League for Gillingham, Aberdeen and Livingstone.

The 31-year-old won the FA Youth Cup and the English Youth League title for Arsenal youth team. He was a regular member of the England Under-17 team, 19 teams at international level.

Thomas plays as a central striker and is also comfortable playing on the wing. Dominating with his body, pace and close control, Guy-Emmanuel Thomas scored 13 goals in 13 appearances for Arsenal U23s in his breakthrough season.

“It feels great to be associated with the ISL League Shield winners,” the England star said after signing with Jamshedpur.

“Every match at ISL will be difficult. I want to contribute to the team’s victory. I also look forward to meeting the fans.”
