Janhvi Kapoor’s film only collects…

New Delhi: Back to calm in Bollywood! The debut of Janhvi Kapoor’s Mili on November 4 hardly succeeded in attracting audiences to the theatres. It had a lackluster box office debut on Friday. Mili had to face off with Sonakshi Sinha-Huma Qureshi’s Double XL and Phone Bhoot with Katrina Kaif.

cash collection

The occupancy rate for Mili was only 10%. According to trade sources, Mili earned between Rs 45 and Rs 65 lakh.

According to Box Office India, “Mili and Double XL opened up for terrible collections, with Mili being the better of the two. Mili and Double XL are both women-centric films and both are in that concept/content zone that sometimes had takers before the pandemic but is a big struggle today. These films are now available to stream, but the problem is that the streaming giants want a theatrical release, so the films will only be released when it’s known they won’t collect them.”

About Milli

Janhvi Kapoor plays the key character in survival thriller Mili. This production stars Manoj Pahwa and Sunny Kaushal in key roles. The film is a Hindi translation of the Malayalam film Helen. Anna Ben portrayed the title character in the original production. The actress also received the Kerala State Film Award (Special Jury Prize) for her performance.

Boney Kapoor is the film’s producer and Mathukutty Xavier, who oversaw the first film, is the director. Helen’s storyline, which came out in 2019, received amazing reviews. At the 67th edition of the awards, the director also won the National Film Award for Best Debut Director.
