Hyderabad: Ahead of Bathukamma festival, Kalvakuntala Kavita and Vishal filmmaker Gautam Vasudev Menon launched the song Bathukamma produced by Telangana Jagriti. The song, shot in the districts of Telangana, was released today ahead of the first day of Bathukamma. The song Bathukamma is composed by Academy Award winner AR Rahman, sung by Uttara Unnikrishnan, written by Mittapalli Surendra, and choreographed by National Award winner Brinda.
Bathukamma festival is an integral part of Telangana and it identifies with the cultural identity of the people of the state across the world. The Telangana Jagriti led by former MP Kalvakuntala Kavitha played an important role towards cultural integration and strengthening the roots of the Telangana movement. Since then Telangana Jagriti has been an active force representing the cultural and literary landscape of Telangana not only in India but also internationally.
Arrahman took to Twitter to launch the song, tweeting “బతుకమ్మ ుగ ుభాకాంక్షలు! Festival of life. Celebration of solidarity. With Telangana awakening presents a glimpse of the beauty of Bathukamma through “#AlipulaVenela”.
The recent collaboration with renowned director Gautham Vasudev Menon, renowned composer AR Rahman, Kavita-led Telangana Jagriti has added to the festive atmosphere of Telangana and another reason for Telangana women in particular to enjoy the colorful and joyous Bathukamma festival Have given.
The song was formally launched by MLC Kavita and director Gautam Vasudev Menon at MLC Kavita’s residence in Hyderabad.
