Kangana Ranaut heads to Delhi for recce of her film ‘Emergency’ after ‘Dhaakad’ fail

New Delhi: Actor Kangana Ranaut, on Sunday, headed to Delhi for the recce of her film ‘Emergency’.

She was spotted at Mumbai airport wearing a beautiful saree. She accessorised her airport outfit with a pearl necklace.

Kangana will not only act as the lead in the film ‘Emergency’ but she will also direct and produce it.

‘Emergency’ is based on the life of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Talking about Emergency, Kangana had earlier shared, “Pleased to wear director’s hat again, after working on Emergency for more than a year I finally figured no one can direct it better than me. Collaborating with fabulous writer Ritesh Shah, even if it means sacrificing on various acting assignments I am determined to do it, my excitement is high. This is going to be a tremendous journey, my leap to another league #Emergency #Indira.”

In an earlier statement, the National Award-winning actor had clarified that Emergency is not a biopic, but a political drama. She said, “It is not the biopic of Indira Gandhi. It is a grand period film. To be precise, it is a political drama that will help my generation to understand the socio-political landscape of current India.”

Meanwhile, Kangana’s recent release Dhaakad failed to show any fire at the box office. The film, made on an estimated budget of Rs 80 crore, could not collect even Rs 3 crore at the ticket window.
