Kanpur: After a meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Meenakshi Gupta, wife of businessman Manish Gupta, who was allegedly killed in a police raid on a hotel room in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur, said the matter was transferred to Kanpur. will be given.

The Chief Minister met the victim’s family in Kanpur on Thursday. Speaking to ANI, Meenakshi Gupta said, “Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met us today and he has ensured a fair investigation into the entire matter.”

“The case will now be transferred to Kanpur and our request for a CBI inquiry has also been accepted,” he said.

Gupta further said that the Chief Minister has accepted their request for government jobs and other demands as well.

“We are happy that at least the government is with us and stands by us in this difficult situation,” he said.

Manish Gupta, a Kanpur-based businessman, was killed on Monday following a police raid on a hotel in Gorakhpur in which he was injured and later died.

The family of a Kanpur businessman has alleged that he was beaten to death by the police during a raid at the hotel.

The police department on Thursday suspended six policemen on charges of negligence during raids in the hotel room of Manish Gupta’s death.
