Bangalore: Karnataka on Sunday announced night curfew across the state for the next 10 days starting from December 28. The decision to reimpose the night curfew comes amid rising cases of COVID-19 and its new variant, Omicron.
The decision was taken during the Karnataka cabinet meeting convened by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Night curfew in Karnataka is starting from Tuesday, December 28, 2021 and will be in force for the next 10 days i.e. till January 7, 2022.

If you are planning to do new year 2022 and new year eve party, then you have to change your plans as karnataka health minister K Sudhakar said that there will be complete ban on all types of new year parties in public places .
“There will be no celebrations, parties in the outdoor premises, especially for those celebrating with DJs and large gatherings, have been completely banned in Karnataka,” the state minister said.
Also, hotels/restaurants/pubs/eateries are allowed to operate with 50% seating capacity of the premises.
The restrictions for hotels/restaurants/pubs will be effective from December 30, 2021 to January 2, 2022. All staff members of eateries will have to give their COVID-19 negative RT-PCR report and they will have to be fully vaccinated against coronavirus. ,
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Karnataka has so far reported 31 cases of Omicron type of COVID-19. Out of the total cases, 16 patients are undergoing treatment, while 15 have been cured.
Karnataka recorded 270 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. Four people have died due to this virus in the last 24 hours. So far 30,04,239 people have been infected with COVID-19 in the state, while the total deaths have gone up to 38,309.
