Lakhimpur Kheri violence: My son ready to depose before investigating agencies, says MoS Teni

A day after an FIR was registered against Union Minister of State for Home (MoS) Ajay Mishra Teni’s son Ashish Mishra Teni, the Minister of State for Home told ANI on Tuesday that his son is ready to appear before any investigating agency.

New Delhi: A day after an FIR was registered against Union Minister of State for Home (MoS) Ajay Mishra Teni’s son Ashish Mishra Teni, the Minister of State for Home told ANI on Tuesday that his son is ready to appear before any investigating agency.


“An FIR has been registered. In our country, there is a rule of law and everyone has a right to lodge a complaint. During evidence collection, everything will be clear. Investigators will check our call details records, mobile location etc. It will be clear that my son was not on the spot at the time of the incident. My son is ready to appear before the investigating agencies.” Regarding the purported video of a van running over farmers protesting at Lakhimpur Kheri, Teni said, “In that video, one can clearly see that the driver who crushed the farmers was thrashed on the spot. was killed. So, (by that logic) if my son had crushed the farmers, he would have been killed.”


He also said, “All the victims including BJP workers killed in the tremors will get a compensation of Rs 45 lakh and those injured will get Rs 10 lakh.”


Earlier, the United Kisan Morcha (SKM) issued a statement regarding the incident which claimed the death of four farmers and alleged that one of the four farmers was shot dead by the son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni. while others were allegedly run over.
