Addressing the media soon after his second meeting of the state cabinet in Chandigarh, CM Channi said, “Whoever is the party president, he is the head of the family. I had called him (Navjot Singh Sidhu) and told him that party is paramount… I have spoken to him over phone and told him let’s sit, talk and resolve this issue.”
Earlier today, Sidhu took a veiled dig at the new Punjab government, saying it cannot compromise with its morality, moral authority and added that he “does not want to repeat a system of tainted leaders and officials in the state”. Channi also talked about the decisions taken during the Punjab cabinet meeting today in the press conference and informed that the Punjab government will pay the electricity bills of 53 lakh families who cannot do so.
