Lt Gen JS Nain calls on Maha Governor Koshyari who lauds Army's contribution in flood relief, tackling COVID-19


Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], 14 October (ANI): Lt Gen JS Nain, Army Commander, Southern Command called on Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, who lauded the Army’s contribution, especially during the flood relief operations across the state and from COVID-19. Assistance to the state machinery in handling – 19.

Before meeting the Governor, Lt Gen JS Nain visited the Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa region, headquartered in Mumbai from October 12 to 13, an official release said. They were briefed on various operational and training related issues.

The Army Commander was updated on aspects relating to the welfare of ex-servicemen and various contributions to humanitarian aid during COVID-19 and flood relief operations. He appreciated the efforts of the formation for the activities done by them. He also visited Diamond Awa Hostel for the children of serving personnel and appreciated the facilities in the hostel, the release said.

The Army Commander inaugurated the Yachting Association of India Youth Championship 2021 at HBTC Marve. He interacted with eminent sailors of the country. During his visit to INS Hamla, he appreciated the efforts of the Indian Navy.

He later visited Headquarters Western Naval Command and held talks with Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command. They discussed operational issues and ways to further enhance the joint skills between the two services. (ANI)
