Maharashtra civic polls: AIMIM proposes alliance with Congress, NCP to defeat BJP

AIMIM Maharashtra state president Imtiaz Jaleel said, “Whenever BJP wins, AIMIM is blamed for it, stating that we are the ‘B team’ of BJP. Hence, we have formed an alliance with our party in Maharashtra. A proposal has been given to the Congress for this.”

Jalil, however, said the NCP and Congress ally Shiv Sena in the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi government should be kept out.

“I know they will not agree to it as they have an alliance with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, but at least we will not be held responsible for BJP’s victory as we offered them an alliance,” Jalil said.

Earlier, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had ruled out an alliance between his party and AIMIM.

“The Maharashtra government has been formed by three parties, Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party. No fourth party will be included,” he (ANI) had told.
