Mahindra Scorpio Classic: 5 things to watch out for!

New Delhi: Scorpio is a successful product for Mahindra. So now, even after the company launched the Scorpio-N, the old Scorpio has been renamed the Scorpio Classic. It will be launched on August 20th. Many changes were seen in the process. The company has tried to pack it with more features than before, but many features have been left out, including an all-wheel drive system and an automatic transmission. The SUV will be available in two flavors – the entry-level S and the fully-loaded S11. Let’s take a closer look at the Scorpio Classic and tell you what’s on sale and what’s not.

1 engine from Mahindra Scorpio Classic

The biggest update of the Scorpio Classic is the engine. Mahindra has given it a new 2.2 mHawk drive train. It will produce 130hp and 300Nm of power like the new Thar and entry-level Scorpio-N. Like most BS6 engines, the performance of the new mHawk is lower than that of the old engine. It generates 6 hp and 20 Nm less. According to Mahindra, the Classic is 55 kg lighter than the old model. This was made possible by the new all-aluminum engine.

However, this engine can offer 14 percent more fuel efficiency than the old one. The 2.2-meter Hawk drivetrain is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission equipped with cable shifting. This will give a smooth experience when changing gears. Its switching stroke is smaller.

2- The bold look of Mahindra Scorpio Classic

Mahindra tried to give the Scorpio Classic a bolder look. It gets an all-black front nose and a grille with six chromed vertical slats. Mahindra’s new “Twin Peaks” logo was also awarded. A silver Skip sign was also given. The air intake scoop was added to the hood, although it’s only given for show. It gets 17-inch wheels. Two-tone light-alloy wheels are available in the top variant.

On the side, Mahindra has retained the turret lights at the rear that were also present on the 2007 model. The SUV retains the twin-pod projector headlights but gets new LED DRLs just above the fog lights on the bumper. The Scorpio Classic will be available in five color options – Pearl White, Napoli Black, Red Rays, D’Sat Sliver and a new Galaxy Gray color scheme.

3- Updated interior from Mahindra Scorpio Classic

The Scorpio Classic’s cabin has been finished in a combination theme of black and beige, making it feel more spacious and airy. It will see an attempt to give it more premium than before. Wood trims were added to the dashboard. It also gets a large 9-inch Android-based infotainment system with 16GB of internal storage, phone screen mirroring and voice command functionality.

There are many seating options available in the Scorpio Classic. The S trim is available with 7- and 9-seat options, with the third row sitting face-to-face. On the other hand, the S11 gets a 7-seater option. However, captain’s seats are available in the second row.

4- Many features missing in Mahindra Scorpio Classic

Although the Scorpio Classic is a fairly loaded SUV, many features have been omitted from it. Features like automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, intermittent wiper controller or tire pressure monitoring system are not available in the Classic. Apart from that, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also not available in the new infotainment system. The SUV doesn’t even get an automatic transmission or 4WD. While Android Auto Play, Apple Car Play and automatic transmissions are also available in budget cars these days.

5- Are the limited features offered to sell the Scorpio-N?

Whatever traits Mahindra left behind, almost all of them can be found in the Scorpio-N. The Scorpio-N was launched on June 27th by the company, which has received a tremendous response from customers. But Mahindra has decided to continue selling the old Scorpio as well. In such a situation, if the company had more similarities in the characteristics of Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic, the confusion among customers could have increased even more, because then there would be 20 years of brand equity of Scorpio on the one hand and Scorpio-N on the other Site would have aggressive look, design and similar features. .
