Mahindra to launch electric XUV300 on THIS date

New Delhi: Mahindra had earlier announced that the eXUV300 Electric car would be launched in the third or fourth quarter of this financial year. Now the company has reaffirmed its launch of its long-awaited electric SUV in the first quarter of 2023. Mahindra had previously showcased its small electric SUV at the 2020 Auto Expo in the form of a pre-production concept.

The eXUV300 will be part of a series of electric vehicles developed by Mahindra. The company in 2021 announced that it will launch up to 16 electric vehicles in the next 7 years. The new models will include 8 electric SUVs and 8 light vehicles. Mahindra recently mocked three electric SUVs that are expected to make their first appearance later this year. The company recently signed an agreement with Volkswagen regarding the possible use of MEB platform components in its upcoming list of ‘born’ electric types.

The eXUV300 concept from the 2022 Auto Expo showcased the latest production model with only a few cosmetic changes over the standard XUV300 with a combustion engine. The noticeable difference is the closed grille and hinges on the front bumper, blue body highlights, the absence of standard rear view mirrors and different wheels and interior lights.

If we go with the vision we can expect a productive car to experience positive changes in petrol and diesel although some of the features such as the 2022 car system will be modified.

Regarding the powertrain, the company at the 2020 show had said the SUV would upgrade 130 bhp to a single electric engine paired with a 40kWh battery and a distance of up to 300 km.

The eXUV300 will compete with the popular Nexon EV when it comes to the market next year.
