Manika Batra sails into the quarterfinals


Birmingham: India’s ace star Manika Batra is through to the women’s singles quarterfinals in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022.

Earlier today, Manika Batra reached the mixed doubles quarterfinals with Sathiyan Gnanasekaran against Nigeria.

Manika Batra’s previous records

She brought home three gold medals from the 12th South Asian Games in 2016. Manika Batra is the highest ranked Indian table tennis player. He won a historic gold medal at Commonwealth Games 2018. Batra is the first Indian to receive the ‘Breakthrough Table Tennis Star’ award at the prestigious ITTF award in South Korea.

Manika made her mark in the sports world by shining in the Commonwealth Games 2018. She became the first Indian woman to win a gold medal in singles by defeating Yu Mengyu of Singapore. The table tennis player also won the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award 2020
