New Delhi: Elections to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will be held on December 4 while the counting of votes will take place on December 7.

Announcing the dates for the MCD elections, the Delhi State Election Commission said that the last date for filing nominations is November 14.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are face to face for civic elections in Delhi.

The MCD has been with the saffron party for almost a decade, while AAP is in power in the Delhi government.

The elections to the municipal bodies were to be held in the year 2017, which was delayed due to several reasons including coronavirus and integration of East, North and South Municipal Corporations of Delhi into the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
