New Delhi: Miley Cyrus had a wardrobe malfunction while performing on her NBC New Years Eve special, titled ‘Miles New Years Eve Party’. After the pop singer suffered a wardrobe malfunction and was caught by the shutterbugs, the video went viral within hours.

According to People Magazine, the 29-year-old singer quickly improvised and changed her outfit, continuing with her set. The moment came when Cyrus performed her hit ‘We Can’t Stop’ and transitioned to another popular tune, ‘Party in the USA’.

As she walked around the stage in a silver dress, Cyrus could be seen holding onto her top as she sang the opening lyrics of the song, before making her way backstage as her backup vocalist and vocalist. The band kept playing. In between the song’s first chorus, the ‘Angels Like You’ crooner returned to the stage in a red blazer, which he donned at the first event.

“Everyone is definitely looking at me now,” Cyrus quipped while broadcasting the 2009 song’s lyrics.

“I’m still in the most clothes I’ve ever worn on stage,” she added between songs.

“Thank you very much, everyone, thank you. Tonight’s show was about being resilient, rolling with the punches, and making the best of even the worst of situations. And that resilience shouldn’t end there. Let’s bring it to the new. Our years together,” Cyrus said at the end of the show.

He continued, “We’ve all learned to expect the unexpected, and instead of seeing it as a problem, look at it as an opportunity. I see everyone here in Miami and everyone watching from home. Wishing you a happy and healthy 2022. Thank you for making tonight possible. You were really all I needed for the ultimate party.”

According to People Magazine, the special, which airs live on NBC and is live-streamed on Peacock, was filmed in Miami as the nation deals with the COVID-19 pandemic and the growth of the Omicron version. Cyrus said at the beginning of the show that the entire crowd was vaccinated. The “Miles New Years Eve Party” came from Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels and saw Pete Davidson as co-host.

Cyrus and television producer Lindsay Shookus also signed on as executive producers.
