New Delhi: In order to bring the handicrafts of more than 35 million handloom weavers and 27 million artisans directly to consumers while cutting out middlemen, the Ministry of Textiles has developed an e-commerce portal for the handloom and handloom sector. Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister for Textiles, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Commerce & Industry launched the portal in Gujarat.
With the help of this virtual Indian store, artisans are fairly compensated without the need for middlemen to manipulate prices, and urban Indians can get 100% authentic and best handicrafts straight from the heart of India.
India’s handmade portal offers a wide range of products including apparel, home decor, jewellery, accessories and more. All their products are handcrafted by skilled artisans and pride themselves on offering unique and authentic pieces that showcase India’s diverse cultural heritage.
Most of the products sold on the portal are made using environmentally friendly and sustainable materials, making them an excellent choice for those who are aware of their impact on the environment. Overall, it’s a one-stop shop for handmade products in India and a great way to discover and support Indian artisans and their crafts.
The portal also provides opportunities to a total of 62 million weavers and artisans to become future e-entrepreneurs.
India is well known for its rich cultural heritage and traditional crafts, including handlooms and handicrafts.
