Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President MK Stalin on Friday paid floral tributes to the veteran Tamil actor Sivaji Ganesan at his memorial in Chennai on his 93rd birth anniversary. He also praised the actor and said that his fame will be cherished as long as there is a world of art.
The Chief Minister posted on Twitter, “The pinnacle of acting – Dosti Ka Grammar Actor Tilak Sevalia Sivaji Ganesan’s birthday! Gunasekhar roared the fiery revolutionary Parashakti poem in the voice of a lion and praised the friendship with the lead artist!”
Earlier, several Tollywood actors also took to their respective social media handles to pay their respects to the veteran star.
Taking to his Twitter handle on Friday, Haasan shared an old picture of himself with the late actor and wrote a message to honor his memory. Haasan’s tweet loosely translates: “He witnessed the pinnacle of the performing arts. The golden age of cinema. One that is timeless in people’s hearts. Sivaji Ganesan, the artist of eternity. My prayers on his birthday.”
Sivaji Ganesan’s grandson Vikram Prabhu shared a Google Doodle in honor of the veteran actor and wrote, “Here’s honoring #Googledoodle legend #SivajiGanesan on his 93rd birthday. Appreciate the people of Google India and his guest star Nupur Rajesh . Choksi for the doodle art. Another proud moment! Love him and miss him more every year!”
Cinematographer PC Sriram shared a picture of the late actor on his Twitter handle and wrote, “Blessed to capture him in Devarmagan. Beautiful memories and great learning in the process..”
The tallest Tamil actor Sivaji Ganesan was also called Marlon Brando South Indian film industry. He was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest honor of cinema, in 1997.
