“Morgan is an incredible leader…”: Liam Livingstone, Jason Roy take back their captaincy

Amstelwein: Eoin Morgan hasn’t been in form lately but teammates backed his leader and said he was just one score away from getting back in form.

Morgan has so far failed to score runs on his tour of the Netherlands, falling for ducks on both occasions. His last fifty also came against Sri Lanka a year ago. “I think the thing that has been forgotten is Morges (Morgan) is an incredible leader. He is the leader of our team and everyone knows he is only one score away. I am sure the score will come very soon and he is off Will be up and running again,” Morgan was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

England have already won a comprehensive series 2-0, their first win after a world-record score of 498-4 on Friday. Jos Buttler was one of three players in the game to score a century – an unbeaten 162 off 70 balls – while Livingstone struck England’s record-fastest half-century in just 17 balls, finishing with 66* for 22 .

It continued the fine form for Butler. This comes after his exploits during an illustrious IPL season in which he scored four centuries for Rajasthan Royals as the tournament’s leading run-scorer.

“It was nice to see Jose go about his business, to have him by my side this time. It was very special to watch, especially from the other end. It’s been a lot of fun. Obviously it’s good to break the world record.” On Friday, the boys have put in some really good cricket, it’s been a great standard and hopefully, it’s the same again [on Wednesday],” They said.

Opener Jason Roy has also backed Morgan to rediscover his touch with Willow.

“It’s just the fickle nature of the game. It’s tough enough if you’re behind the eight-ball but he’s an incredible worker, an incredible guy so I’m definitely backing him,” he added.

“He is the captain of our team and is winning matches, so I think that matters more to him than his score which makes him more special to play under. He will be fine. He is absolutely fine,” he said. Will be done.”
