Mumbai logs 6,032 new COVID-19 cases, 12 deaths in last 24 hrs

MumbaiThe Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday said that Mumbai recorded 6,032 new cases of COVID-19 during the last 24 hours.

Of these patients, 5,067 (84 per cent) are asymptomatic. A total of 60,291 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of cases of this disease in Mumbai has gone up to 10,17,999.

During the last 24 hours, 18,241 patients have recovered from the infection, taking the total number of recoveries in Mumbai to 9,66,985.
In Mumbai, 538 patients were hospitalized during the last 24 hours. Currently 5,058 beds out of the total 38,109 are occupied by patients, the bed occupancy rate is 13.3 per cent.

During the last 24 hours 12 people lost their lives due to the deadly virus. The death toll due to the virus in Mumbai currently stands at 16,488.

The city currently has 31,856 active COVID-19 patients. At present, 54 buildings in Mumbai have been sealed to control the spread of the virus. (ANI)
