Mumbai Police busts Indian currency printing factory, arrests man with 1.60 lakh counterfeit notes

The arrested person has been identified as Shabbir Hassan Qureshi. 53 counterfeit notes of Rs 2,000 each have been recovered from the Indian Bank Note Printing Factory in Pydhonie area of ​​Mumbai.

Mumbai: Mumbai Police’s Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) busted an Indian banknote printing factory operating in Mumbai’s Pydhonie area and arrested a 47-year-old man, informed Mumbai Police on Wednesday.

The arrested person has been identified as Shabbir Hassan Qureshi. Police also recovered Rs. 1,60,000 fake notes and 53 fake notes of Rs 2,000 from the factory.

Apart from this, a computer printer and other material required for making counterfeit notes have also been recovered from Shabbir’s house.

Police said, “The accused was printing notes at his own house, he has been printing these notes for the past several days and has distributed them in different markets of Mumbai.”

The accused has been arrested by the Pydhonie police station and the police is searching for his partner.

Shabbir will be produced in the court today.
