My personal WhatsApp number: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann swung into action, announces anti-corruption helpline

Chandigarh: Newly-elected Chief Minister of Punjab and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Bhagwant Mann on Thursday announced the launch of an anti-corruption helpline. He said the helpline number would be his “personal number” and would be operational from March 23.

Mann took oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab on Wednesday and promised that we will not waste a single day.

Mann tweeted in Hindi and Punjabi saying, “On the martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh ji, we will release an anti-corruption helpline number. That will be my person’s WhatsApp number. If anyone asks for bribe, send audio and video to that number.” Strict action will be taken against the corrupt.”

Mann said that from now on there will be no corruption in Punjab.

“People of Punjab have done their duty of voting and now it is my time to do what I have been voted for,” he said.

He said in a video message, “I am not threatening any government employee. 99 per cent of government employees are honest but there are 1 per cent employees who are corrupt, who have spoiled the system. Only you are the ones who are responsible for this corrupt system.” can clean up.”

The Anti-Corruption Helpline Number will be exclusively for the people to upload videos of corrupt officials seeking bribe or indulging in other malpractices for their day to day work. He said that such officers would be punished.

One of the major election promises of AAP was to eradicate corruption from the state. Ahead of the elections, party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had promised the people of Punjab to “end corruption in government jobs” if AAP comes to power in the state.

In the recently concluded Punjab Assembly Election 2022, AAP registered a landslide victory, winning 92 seats out of 117, Congress winning 18 seats.
