Nathan Ellis bags 4 wickets as RR down in chase

New Delhi: Australia’s right-arm bowler Nathan Ellis took four wickets against Rajasthan Royals (RR) as Punjab Kings (PBKS) clinched the match at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday, April 5.

Nathan Ellis all wickets against RR

Jos Buttler returned to the pavilion for 19 runs. Tried to take a ball from Ellis, got an inside edge that hit his pads and went up in the air. Ellis ran and caught the ball.

A second wicket for Nathan Ellis and it came at the perfect time. Captain Sanju Samson handed the catch straight to the fielder at long-off. He tried to hit it against the cross-seamer but it didn’t really connect with the middle.

The Barsapara Cricket Stadium fell silent as local boy Riyan Parag tried to go for the maximum, only to be bowled by Ellis’ first ball into the hands of Shahrukh Khan. Nathan Ellis’ last two overs sent Punjab to the wickets of Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag, who departed for 20 off 12 balls.

Devdutt Padikkal’s slow and laborious innings ended with Nathan Ellis waiting for 21 runs off 26 balls.

The punch of PBKS

Earlier, PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan (86) and Prabhsimran Singh (60) guided PBKS to set a formidable target of 198 for RR.
