New Delhi: The Indian Army has decided to shift the Army Day parade, which is held in Delhi on January 15 every year, outside the national capital.

According to Army officials, next year 2023, on January 15, the Army Day Parade will be held in the Southern Command area.

It is noteworthy that on this day there was a transfer of power in India from the British. On this day, there is a military parade and all those new technologies, which the Indian Army has acquired or put into service, are displayed.

The Indian Army was officially established on 1 April 1895. The army got its first chief after the independence of India on 15 January 1949. The Indian Army was officially handed over to country this day

On this day, General Sir Francis Butcher handed over the command of the Indian Army to Lt. General KM Cariappa. In 1947, Lt. Gen. Cariapp led the Indian Army in the war against Pakistan on the western border.
