NIA, ED raided 10 states, around 100 PFI members were arrested


New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids in 10 states of the country on Thursday. The raids were carried out as a measure against terrorism born in the country.

About 100 people were arrested

This is considered one of the largest raids in the country. A joint operation by NIA, ED and state police forces raided 10 states across the country. As a result of the raids, around 100 leaders of the People’s Front of India (PFI) and SDPI (Social Democratic Party of India) have been arrested.

However, most of the arrests by the agencies have been of people who protested on the spot during the raids and all of them are members of the PFI. NIA raids continue in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, among others.

The NIA has also raided the residences of PFI officials at many places including Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Ramnad, Dindugal, Theni and Thenkashi in Tamil Nadu. Apart from this, searches are also being conducted at the state headquarters of PFI in Chennai. The residence of PFI president OMA Salami in Malappuram was also raided.

The national secretary of PFI was arrested

PFI National Secretary Naseeruddin Imlamaram has also been arrested. The 100 arrested people are the big leaders of PFI. This riding is going on in the states of UP, Kerala, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Delhi, Rajasthan and Bihar. In this ride, some very shocking facts are likely to be revealed. Over a dozen PFI cases have been registered by the NIA in recent days. These NIA raids are carried out on residential and office premises of people involved in financing terrorism, organizing training camps and radicalizing people to join banned organisations.
