Birmingham: Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen won R16 against Bagao Helena Ismail of Mozambique on the third day of the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022.
The defending world champion got a perfect score of 20 in the first round to win the game against Ismail.
Earlier, India’s weightlifter Jeremy Lal Lalrinnunga won the gold medal by lifting 300 kg. Commonwealth Games 2022,
Jeremy lifted a 140kg lift to set a Commonwealth Games record in the snatch round of 67kg, 10kg more than the second best on the list. Lalrinnunga is the youngest Indian weightlifter in the contingent and is playing his first Commonwealth Games. The performance of the young lifter will be an inspiration to many Indians as he won the gold medal with a jump of 7kg.
