NTA postpones exam for Manipur

New Delhi: In view of the recent riots in Manipur, the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday postponed the Common University Entrance Examination 2023 (CUET-UG). According to the new dates, the entrance exam will be held on May 29.

“As far as Manipur is concerned, there are around 3,697 candidates who had earlier decided to appear in Manipur for the CUET (UG)-2023 examination. The NTA in consultation with the state administration has thoroughly reviewed the law and order situation and contacted these candidates over phone to inquire about their preferred city,” the NTA said.

“Some candidates who were not in Manipur or wanted to take the exam in another state/city are being allotted to other cities. The option to change the center for Manipur candidates is still available,” he added.

For the candidates of Jammu and Kashmir

The education board is also looking for a temporary center in Srinagar to conduct CUET 2023. 87,309 applicants from the territory of the trade union registered for the exam. A total of 18012 candidates will appear in 12 centers in Jammu and Kashmir.

“For the CUET exam on May 25, 26, 27 and 28, 2023. A total of 44,425 candidates will appear in the 15 centers set up in Jammu and Kashmir. Some candidates have been displaced from the state,” the NTA said.

CUET Admit Card 2023

However, CUET 2023 will be held from May 21 to June 2, 2023 and June 5 and June 6 this year for the rest of the country, leaving June 7 and 8 as buffer days.

Candidates should note that CUET 2023 admit cards have been released on Friday (May 19). Candidates for the exam on the official website – cuet.samarth.ac.in — download their hall tickets to appear in the exam hall.
