Tudu is the Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Tribal Affairs. He represents the Mayurbhanj constituency in the Lok Sabha and was inducted into the Union Cabinet as MoS in July last year.
ANI quoted SDPO KK Hariprasad as saying, “On Friday, Deputy Director of Planning Board, Mayurbhanj informed that MP Bishweshwar Tudu had attacked him and Assistant Director. A case has been registered.”
District Planning Board Deputy Director Ashwini Malik and Assistant Director Debashish Mohapatra sustained injuries and were admitted to the hospital. A case under sections 323, 325, 341, 294, 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against the Union Minister at Baripada Town Police Station.
Debashish Mohapatra told that both of them were called by the Union Minister for a review meeting at the party office located near Taktapur. Debashish Mohapatra said that after the two officers reached there, the minister asked his colleagues to shut the shutters and thrashed both of them with a plastic chair.
However, Union Minister Bishweshwar Tudu has denied the allegations, saying that it is an attempt to malign his image ahead of the panchayat elections. “The allegations are false and baseless.
Tudu said both the officers had come for the review meeting, while he could not meet them as he was busy.
