New Delhi: The work to save the Karam river dam constructed in Bharudpura tehsil Kothida village of Dhar district continues, though after 40 hours of hard work, the administration team has achieved some success. The water started coming out of the dam from 12:30 yesterday, which continues. The route parallel to this water is being extended to be able to remove more water. Currently, its width is 10 feet.

It is now being raised to 25 feet and its depth is also being increased so that the water in the dam can now be emptied quickly. We report that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan himself is monitoring this matter, he briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the matter yesterday, while government ministers Tulsi Silavat and Rajyavardhan Singh Dattigaon are present at the site.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is keeping an eye on the whole issue. Even today, in the early hours of the morning, he spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the phone and informed them about the dam. It is being explained that another way of draining the water has also been done, water drainage has also been started.

18 completely empty towns
However, it is being said that the flow of water coming out of the dam is less, so it can be increased further. Earlier, the administration teams completely evacuated 18 villages as a precaution. Administration teams have visited each village and inspected each village. So that no one in the village is left behind. Because the water coming out of the dam will flow through the Karam river and pass through the affected villages to Maheshwar and enter the Narmada river. This was the reason why the administration evacuated the villages by issuing an alert to the affected villages.

A rain warning has been issued today
We tell you that the canal was being dug to empty the Karam dam, but due to the arrival of the rock there were many problems in the excavation work. In this situation, an alternative route was subsequently taken, from which water has also started coming out, but it is worrying that today the Meteorological Department has also issued the warning of heavy rains in Dhar district. After that, the government has changed the plan to draw water from the dam. The wall of the dam in which water is filtered, it was decided to cut and empty the water. Now the water is released from the dam of the cut.

what’s the whole point
We tell you that the dam being constructed on the Karam River between Bharudpura and Kothida in Dhar started leaking after the leak on Thursday. Because of this, the land on one side of the dam was also washed away. Later a part of the dam wall broke and fell. Since then, there was a chance that the dam would break.

The dam work is 75 percent complete. There is a danger that, if it rains, the risk of the dam breaking increases. At the same time, the administration has evacuated 11 villages of Dhar district as well as 6 villages of Khargone district have also been evacuated. Article 144 has been imposed on the area by the administration. By late night, ministers Tulsi Silavat and Rajvardhan Singh Dattigaon have also reached the spot.
