New Delhi: Pakistan coach Ramiz Raja has expressed his disappointment with the way fans and media reacted to the national team’s performance. Talking about Pakistan, who lost the Asia Cup 2022 final and then lost the series to England, Raja said the team did a good job and it’s okay to have bad days.
Ramiz Raja compared the reaction of the fans to that of the Indian fans and highlighted the difference between the two.
The Pakistan coach made a contrasting comparison between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. The Indian cricketer had hit a century in the Asia Cup 2022, while Azam also scored a century for England, but the reaction from the fans was very different.
“Earlier, we faltered at the first hurdle. Yes, we made it to the final, and yes, we didn’t play well. But it’s okay if it’s a bad day. But there were also other teams in the Asia Cup. I mean India should have been heavily criticized then for not making it to the final. But their fans and media don’t.
“I tell you, when Virat Kohli scored a century against Afghanistan, they forgot the whole Asia Cup. Will we ever do that? We say Babar Azam scored a ton but his strike rate was 135 while David Warner’s was 147.3. So this is useless,” Pakistan’s Ramiz Raja said while talking to Sam TV.
