Pakistan: Man held for wielding gun outside Parliament House in Islamabad


Islamabad: Local media reported that Pakistani police arrested a man on Thursday for allegedly wielding a gun outside the Parliament building.

According to ARY News, fear prevailed in the capital police when a man with a weapon was seen outside the Parliament building on Constitution Avenue.

Police said the gunman who entered the protest outside Parliament House was arrested and later identified as a guard of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Mufti Kifayatullah, ARY News reported. Told.

Pakistani media further said that the guard was brought to the police station to brandish Kalashnikov in the highly restricted Red Zone of Islamabad.

Last year, the police caught an elderly man with weapons outside the Parliament House. The police recovered a pistol and a dagger from his possession.

The gunman, carrying a gun in one hand and a dagger in the other, roamed outside the Parliament House for more than 45 minutes.

According to ARY News, the suspect was pretending to be carrying his gun, he was wearing a suicide jacket to fire.
