“I think in the middle we were trying to give other batsmen a chance. That cost us today. It was an attainable goal. In the middle, we couldn’t turn the strike. For me it is important that whoever is new to the team, has enough games before the WC. It was a great opportunity for others. We don’t take any team lightly. It’s part of the game. They played good cricket and deserved to win. We need to work on areas and be strong,” India captain Harmanpreet Kaur said after losing the match.
Nida Dar – Player of the match
Pakistan had won the toss and elected to bat first. After that they put 137 runs on board which India did not chase down. Nida Dar had scored 56 runs in 37 balls.
“It was a slow start for us. Bismah told me we need to get a partnership. It was a good wicket for the batsmen. I needed to hit my strong points. I told him (Bismah) you are going for singles and doubles. The last three-four overs, he was low. We have to work on that aspect”, Dar after being awarded as Player of the Match.
